This is a bit embarrassing, but I am having trouble getting past the 'no bluejeans' idea. Is it REALLY bad to wear jeans? Is anyone bringing them? Am I too stuck in the western world??

It's certainly not a faux pas to wear jeans. Each year, more and more Indians are wearing jeans, as they're eager to look more Western. The main reason to not wear jeans is that they can get hot, and if we're going to sit on the floor at a temple, can bunch up a bit. Otherwise, they're just fine.
